New Year's Day - 2008
The UK 2CV Southern Clubs have been meeting to celebrate New Year's Day on Hayling Island with a barbeque organised by the Les Fils de Vitesse and Pompey Puddleducks at the Railway terminus behind the fun-fair. Report by Peter Lee
(Peter Lee) Once again, New Years Day weather was quite kind with just ‘drizzle’ suggested - although it did ‘big spot drizzle’ by 14.00. Super turn out as usual with Citroens a-plenty including intrepid Lomax owners, Mr Chitty of Citroen Specials Club too. Our midday arrival at Beach Railway Station was greeted with smouldering BBQs and a melee of 2CVs, Dyanes, Vans and later supplemented by 2 H Vans. Nobody went skinny dipping as far as we could see, preferring to ‘nosh and natter’ before returning to all over Southern Counties. Trains were running too, so a huge thanks to everyone concerned for providing welcome post Christmas entertainment.
