We welcome you to join us on our ambitious event for 2012, our ‘Raid Five Capitals’
5 Capital cities

Plans have now been formalised and we're meeting up with fellow 2CVers along the way.
Currently there are six cars joining us for the whole route and others planning routes tours for us. The NITs have proosed a very exciting drive through Northern Ireland.

Our proposed itinerary:
(you are free to make your own accommodation arrangements , but we are showing where we plan to stay)
1st June 2012 – starting in Wiltshire, we’ll run up the M4 and will touch London, gathering at the Ace Cafe then after a little lunch heading North to our first overnight stop at Nottingham. (Overnight Travelodge Nottingham East Midlands airport)
2nd June 2012 – Nottingham to Edinburgh. (2x overnights, Holiday Inn Express Waterfront or Travelodge Musselburgh)
3rd June 2012 – day at leisure in Edinburgh
4th June 2012 – Edinburgh to Troon, then ferry to Belfast. (2x overnights, Holiday Inn Express Queens)
5th June 2012 – day at leisure in Belfast
6th June 2012 – Belfast to Dublin. (2x overnights,, Holiday Inn Express Dublin Airport)
7th June 2012 – day at leisure in Dublin
8th June 2012 – Ferry Dublin to Holyhead, then South to Bala. (Overnight Bala)
9th June 2012 – Bala to Cardiff. (Overnight Holiday Inn Express Cardiff Bay)
10th June 2012 – Cardiff to home!
There are many options for accommodation and we propose having a rendezvous place & time each day, therefore allowing you to make a choice that suits your budget. All of our stopover points offer a wide choice of camp sites, bunkhouses, B&Bs, guesthouses and hotels. There are some cracking deals around at the moment for those booking early
As you can see our itinerary offers a complete day at leisure in Edinburgh, Belfast & Dublin, giving you an opportunity to enjoy these lovely cities.
Daily mileages will not be too strenuous, we are not fast drivers and there will be plenty of breaks. We will have rendezvous points each day, so you will be free to do your own thing if you wish. We will keep in touch with everyone on the Raid by mobile, email, Facebook & Twitter – so you certainly won’t be alone even if you want to follow your own route!
