1988 Citroen 2CV Charleston in Excellent condition.

Inherited from my father with only 18,000 miles (I have put about another 120 miles since) and 2 previous owners (including him) and restored by Frome 2CV Centre in 2005 at a cost of well over £3000 for use as my wedding car it has since remained dry stored only to come out once a year for a MOT.

I have kept it running in excellent working order and have recently spent over £500 on a mot and full service including plugs, oil, air filter etc.

I have taken the car out today in the sunshine with the roof back,just before the pictures where taken, and it is running beatufilly and started first time just as it always has. And as always it got alot of thumbs up and admiring glances.

Unfortunately I just cannot justify keeping the car any more out of sentiment as it is just never getting used and needs to go to a good home where it will be fully appreciated and used regularly so other can enjoy it.

There is nothing negative really that I can say about the car except for the dents pictured on the passenger door where some ignore individual damaged it in a car park on one of it rare ventures out of the garage.The only other thing I would also note is that the bootlid had to be resprayed as it bubbled and although the paint looks good the colour match is not perfect.

I can honestly say that the only better 2CV's out there are on sale with places like the Frome 2CV centre with £6,000 + price tags on them!

Galvanised chassis, all running gear stripped and blasted to bare metal, hot zinc sprayed, and powder coated in gloss black as well as cowlings and heat exchangers.

All other components treated in hard wearing enamel then chassis completely rebuilt with new bearings, kingpins, brake pipes, fuel sender etc.

Engine fully cleaned and detailed with new heater hoses.

Body fully re-sprayed with new Charleston decals, new roof, body linings, door panels, and seats fully re-upholstered in Charleston grey quilt.

Very rare 1969 Mehari.

MOT Feb 2010. 2-Seater. Tax Free. Drum DOT 4 brakes.

Friction front shocks. Recent clutch, engine oil seals, exhaust, various brake parts, resprayed last year.

I have used this car almost daily for the past 8 years, it has been to Spain and worked three harvests in France, in total about 30k km. It was imported by John Loveridge in France after a complete rebuild including a recon Cassis engine. Featured in the March 2000 2CVGB news.

It has all the usual cracks, blemishes and rattles you would expect from a 40-year old car, but the plastic bodies are almost indestructible and infinitely repairable!

1988 2CV6 Special in Celeste Bleu.

Fantastically reliable car M.O.T'd till April 2010 with 7 months tax.

While not immaculate this Deaux has got it where it counts with an electronic ignition, a galvanised chassis and replaced floor pans. The welding and any other work required for m.o.t was carried out at the 2CV Workshop at Callington where the previous owner took it.

The car carries a few scrapes and small dents on a couple of the wings but certainly nothing serious and the air vent flap is in sound condition. All four tyres are good and last year the car had a new battery (wasn't needed) and a new Alternator (was needed!).

All in all this is a great little motor and has been a great introduction in the world of 2CVing but needs must as the Devil (or in this case house) drives and so it's got to go.

Dyane 6 Weekend 1982 - last year for this model - Castile Red, 69000 miles. 4 previous owners. Last on the road 2007 - for renovation or spares.

Mechanically very good, drives well. Gearbox, King Pins, Suspension, Brakes etc all good. Stainless steel bumpers.

All original documents, including service book, handbook, original bill of sale in blue Citroen wallet, reg doc and all previous MOTs.

Badpoints - floors and cassis severely corroded, ideally could do with replacement. Some body panels need repair but all doors and top half of car ok.

Currently no Tax or MOT, declared SORN, so would have to be trailered away.

1971 MEHARI. COMPLETELY REBUILT. RHD. TAX EXEMPT. (Light Green)

This is probably the closest you will get to a new Mehari. It has been completely and painstakingly rebuilt from the original model, imported from Denmark in 2003. During the rebuild it was converted to RHD.

It is the earlier model with the rounded front, and has had only one owner since import. It is a 4 seater, all seats have been professionally re upholstered.

It has a new galvanised chassis and all new glass fibre bodywork. No expence has been spared. It has been meticulously rebuilt with all stainless steel, galvanised and aluminium fittings. It is quite literally stunning and will NOT corrode. There is a substantial roll bar fitted.
The engine is the more powerful Visa Club version of 650cc, with electronic ignition mated to the original gear box. The exhaust is stainless steel, and the tyres are all brand new on new wheels.

There is complete weather equipment and new doors that have not ever been fitted. There is also a pair of full and hinged side screen doors and a brand new hardtop (never fitted)
The underside of the vehicle is protected with 2 heavy duty dural sheets (aircraft quality aluminuim). The front sheet protects the engine and gear box, and the rear protects the fuel tank.

The bumpers are galvanised and have been strongly designed to serve as jacking points. There is a tow bar complete with electrics.

This amazing , as new, vehicle has to been seen to be appreciated. It will be sold with MOT and road tax until June 2010 (note the road tax is free as it is classified as historic).

There is also a spare 650cc engine

We are confident that you will not find a better example.

For Sale

A sound, reliable 1990 2CV6 repainted Red and Cream with a bright red Matt’s Soft Top.

The car has recently had a galvanised replacement chassis fitted and has a reliable second hand engine and gear box fitted due to a problem with the original gearbox.

The car has been in regular use since we bought it in October 08, and has recently had a service, the track rod ends overhauled and the tracking reset. It starts instantly and runs reliably.

The boot lid has lots of 2CV club stickers on it, but the car comes with a pare sticker free boot lid which requires repair work along the too edge.

The body and panels have a few minor dents and blemishes. The paint has been polished rather thin places (e.G. The bonnet which has also some filler/repair work along the hinge section) and one front wing bracket is coming away, but this is nonetheless a good-looking example of a late 2CV6.

The interior is clean and tidy and everything works as it should although the fuel gauge is typically inaccurate! More photos can be provided on request.

The car is located in West Sussex and has an MOT until October 2009 and is taxed until March 2010.
